PRACTICAL INFORMATION ABOUT

TAKING LIVE ONLINE PIANO LESSONS

• I teach both online and in person. However, since I sometimes travel, in-person students are also expected to be open to online sessions when needed.

• Lessons are available in 60- or 90-minute lengths. I recommend weekly sessions, but you're welcome to choose the frequency that works best for you.

• The first session is free and takes place online. It's a chance for us to get to know each other, discuss your goals, go over any questions, and talk about your personal needs and preferences.

• For pricing details, feel free to reach out! Payment can be made by bank transfer.

• Regular attendance is key to making progress, which is why I offer two subscription options: a 10-session pass and an annual season ticket.

  Please note that pre-arranged sessions cannot be canceled, but they can be rescheduled to a different time slot. However, rescheduling does not mean extending the validity period – for example, a 10-session pass must be completed within 10 weeks. You can move individual sessions to another time within that period, but the overall timeframe does not change.

  If you are an active student, you may also make up missed sessions within 1 year, but only in time slots outside your regular weekly slot.

• To learn piano, you'll need access to an instrument for practice and a music book. If you don't have a piano but would still like to learn, that's possible – but only with in-person lessons, as we'll need an instrument available during our sessions. In that case, please keep in mind that my travel schedule might occasionally affect our lesson plan, but feel free to reach out – we can always discuss if we can work something out.

• It's also important to clarify your learning goals early on. Some students want to achieve specific results, while others take lessons simply for fun or stress relief. Either way, just like with sports – without regular practice, progress is slow.
  

• For online sessions, you'll need a good internet connection and a larger display (laptop, tablet, or monitor) for the best experience. During our first session, I'll help you get everything set up!

• As for levels: I graduated in elementary classical piano teaching, but my musical interests go far beyond that. I'm not a jazz pianist (though I'm learning!), but I'm passionate about all kinds of music – pop, electronic, classical, and everything in between. My personal favorite is film music. TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

My Story

I was 8 years old when I started learning piano. I was admitted to the 10th district's Music School in Budapest, where Teréz Horváth became my first piano teacher. After several successful competition results, at age 13 I was accepted into the Hungarian Liszt Ferenc Music Academy's Preparatory Course for Talented Children, where I studied piano with Gábor Eckhardt.

At 17, I paused my formal music studies, but after graduating high school, I applied to ELTE University's Music Teaching and Conducting program. There, I studied piano pedagogy with Erika Hornyánszkyné Becht, and my piano teacher was Imre Pátkai.

After graduation, I felt the need to explore new directions, so I ventured into other fields – though music never truly left my side. I studied music production at Impro, took jazz piano and jazz singing lessons, and composing became one of my greatest passions.

Not long after, an opportunity came up to teach piano privately. I fell in love with it – and the feedback from my students was wonderfully encouraging – so I decided to fully embrace teaching. Today, I teach both children and adults, guided by a mental health-focused, person-centered philosophy inspired by Carl Rogers.

My Musical Taste

I'd also like to share a bit about my musical taste, because I'm very open-minded when it comes to music. As a child, I grew up at one of Budapest's largest concert venues – the BS (Programs Hall) – where my father worked. I had the chance to listen to countless concerts across many different genres. These experiences shaped my musical outlook, and I believe we can love many different styles at the same time.

I find all genres interesting and exciting – each one offers something new to discover. Music is a language that connects us, and a kind of magic that makes our lives more beautiful. It expresses our soul, helps us develop empathy, and allows us to live our emotions authentically. I believe we all have complex personalities with many layers, so there's no need to choose just one style – loving different kinds of music only makes our lives richer and helps us connect more deeply, first and foremost with ourselves.

My Teaching Philosophy

I don't teach using a rigid, pre-planned method. Instead, we set goals together and tailor each lesson to the individual student's needs. I believe it's important to take ownership of your learning – you can't play an instrument without passion. I truly believe that everyone can make music, and that we all know what we love.

In my experience, one thing above all affects the outcome of studying: loving what you do. Because the more time and heart we invest, the more we can play – and the more joy we'll find in it.
